How do you stop two people buying the same gift?
Put the wishes on one shared list. Each guest marks what they will buy, and everyone with the link sees what is already taken and picks something else.
Can the person the list is for see who reserved what?
No, and that is the point. The owner of the list never sees that something is reserved, or by whom. Only guests see it, so the gifts stay a surprise.
Do guests need an account?
No. A guest opens the link, types a name and reserves. A reservation can be undone if plans change.
